Yet here and there, the writer paused to say something special about some of the people. In chapter 5, the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh went to war against the Hagrites. They prevailed, not because of their size or armaments but because of two critical weapons—prayer and faith. They cried out to God during the battle, and He answered because they trusted in Him.
